Theresa Johnston Friedman joined the firm as an associate in 2014 and is based out of the Birmingham office. Her practice focuses on commercial real estate, representing clients in commercial lending and real estate transactions, including shopping center, apartment, and office building development, agricultural and recreational properties, and commercial and residential leasing. She also has experience practicing civil litigation, especially medical malpractice, insurance defense, and professional liability. Additionally, Mrs. Friedman has assisted in drafting successful appellate briefs for both the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and Alabama Supreme Court.

Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Friedman worked in London, England as an assistant underwriter and broker at Bell & Clements, Insurance and Reinsurance. She also worked as a legal extern to U.S. District Judge Karon O. Bowdre, Northern District of Alabama, and The Honorable Charles Price, 15th Circuit of Alabama. While attending law school, Mrs. Friedman served as the Chief Justice of the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board and the Student Materials Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. She also was a Judge Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society.
